PE Global is currently recruiting for a Senior HMI SCADA Engineer for our medical device client in Limerick. This is an initial 12-month contract role.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior HMI SCADA Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior HMI SCADA Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

Responsibilities:

– Designing and developing HMI and SCADA systems according to project requirements.

– Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather user requirements and translate them into functional specifications.

– Configuring and programming HMI and SCADA software to ensure smooth operation and efficient data acquisition.

– Integrating HMI and SCADA systems with other control systems and ensuring seamless data exchange

– Conducting system testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve any issues or bugs.

– Creating and maintaining HMI and SCADA system documentation, including user manuals and technical specifications.

– Providing technical support and training to colleagues as required.

– Staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in HMI and SCADA technologies.

Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

– Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining HMI and SCADA systems.

– Strong knowledge of HMI and SCADA software, such as Aveva InTouch standalone as well as System Platform (previously Wonderware) and Factory Talk View.

– Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in HMI SCADA systems, such as C#, Java, or VBScript and SQL knowledge.

– Strong Knowledge in Microsoft Server operating Systems.

– Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC, Suitelink) and networking concepts.

– Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and techniques for securing SCADA systems.

– Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

– Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

– Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and clients.

– Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

– Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and platforms in the HMI SCADA field.
